Into the second week
07.19.04 (3:17 pm) [edit]
I continue working on my grid and am at the second week. It wasn't easy to fit all the activities into a grid even when I tried using landscape. Instead of putting everything into the columns, maybe I will just use links. For group work, I will list the structures.
Will try again later - hopefully there won't be any bashing from the B.

The project so far
07.18.04 (5:01 am) [edit]
I checked my teaching activities for the past 19 weeks and tried to rearranged them into a grid. It has 6 columns - week, topic, face to face activities, individual task, group work, and online learning. It has a blend of delivery methods for the week's content.
I guess after mapping out all the activities I can see a clear picture of the blend of learning that the students have gone through. So the next round, when I can't go to class, the students can go on to the next mode. It goes on until the next F2F.
Neat right.

Blended Learning: the history
07.10.04 (7:23 pm) [edit]
I thought I was doing a great job learning to produce a successful blend to help the KPLI students and myself. Tried all types of freewares and coursewares (Nicenet & Quizstar) [url=]websites[/url] etc, spending hours upon hours surfing. Very excited to see how it works out ... I'm in the process of writing up UNTIL...
Adversity strikes!
I realized that someone has been attending a few BPG courses/workshops on elearning for KPLI Edu Studies. There isn't any feedback from the person until today. Question: am I doing the right blend compared to the BPG policy? Still don't know.
Well, when there isn't much to show, then my little website will be proudly on display but the moment of truth will be when there's something more "important" than all a sudden the site will be reserved for the future. It was deliberately shut down from the server - imagine that!
More to come...

Blended learning here
07.10.04 (4:37 pm) [edit]
|
I think I will write up my experience of integrating ICT in my KPLI class here. I would to call it blended learning in the sense that it is actually a mixture of delivery methods.
